About the Role
At WSP, you will have the opportunity to work on landmark projects that make a positive impact on communities and the environment. As an Environmental (EIA) Consultant within our Environmental Management and Assessment Team, you will support a diverse portfolio of projects across sectors including onshore and offshore renewables, aviation, nuclear, rail, highways, energy, and commercial/residential developments. You will manage environmental inputs throughout the project lifecycle, from feasibility and planning through detailed design, construction, and handover. Your role will involve coordinating environmental assessments, working closely with technical specialists and design teams to shape sustainable projects that deliver environmental benefits such as improved habitats, cleaner air and water, and lower carbon footprints. You will also contribute to innovative approaches including digital EIA and prepare compelling environmental statements, sustainable design reports, and project bids. This role is ideal for a proactive individual eager to influence and deliver environmental elements of engineering projects while progressing their career within a supportive and inspiring team environment.

Requirements

Experience
- Degree level qualification in an environment-related area
- Professional membership with IEMA, IES, CIWEM or similar
- Experience providing environmental support on energy projects including EIA
- Sound knowledge of environmental issues and the UK environmental and planning regime
- Experience in sectors such as energy, highways, rail, and housing
- Proven ability to liaise effectively with cross-discipline teams, clients, and external organisations

- Ability to manage projects, coordinate tasks, and handle financial management aspects
- Creative spirit with a commitment to sustainable and innovative environmental solutions

Qualifications
- Relevant degree qualification in an environmental discipline
- Professional membership or working towards chartership is highly desirable
