About the Role
At WSP, you will have the opportunity to work on landmark projects that make a positive impact on communities and the environment. As an Environmental (EIA) Consultant within our Environmental Management and Assessment Team, you will support a diverse portfolio of projects across sectors including onshore and offshore renewables, aviation, nuclear, rail, highways, energy, and commercial/residential developments. You will manage environmental inputs throughout the project lifecycle, from feasibility and planning through to detailed design, construction, and handover. Your role will involve coordinating environmental assessments, working closely with technical specialists and design teams to shape sustainable projects that deliver environmental benefits such as improved habitats, cleaner air and water, and lower carbon footprints.
You will also contribute to innovative approaches including digital EIA techniques, prepare compelling environmental statements and sustainable design reports, and assist with project bids. Experience
- Degree level qualification in an environment-related discipline
- Professional membership of IEMA, IES, CIWEM or similar body
- Experience supporting environmental aspects of energy projects, including Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)
- Sound knowledge of UK environmental and planning regimes
- Experience working across sectors such as energy, highways, rail, and housing
- Proven ability to liaise effectively with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and external organisations
- Strong communication, writing, and presentation skills
