About the Role

Our client, a leading roofing contractor, is seeking an experienced Fire Marshal to join their team on a high-profile construction project. This critical role will ensure fire safety compliance across all roofing and associated works, with a particular focus on overseeing hot works and conducting fire watch duties.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate the hot works permit process for all roofing operations
- Ensure all safety control measures are implemented before issuing permits
- Remain on site throughout live hot works and conduct continuous fire watch duties
- Monitor the area post-completion, including mandatory and periodic follow-up checks
- Use digital thermal imaging equipment to assess heat levels before, during and after works
- Confirm availability and readiness of fire extinguishers and suppression equipment
- Respond promptly to any fire-related incidents, following emergency procedures
- Ensure fire routes, exits and assembly points are compliant and accessible
- Maintain accurate fire watch logs, permit records, and thermal imaging data
- Attend toolbox talks, briefings, and ensure adherence to site fire strategy
- Liaise with site supervisors

Essential Requirements
- Valid and up-to-date Fire Marshal or Fire Warden certificate
- Previous experience in fire watch or hot works supervision (roofing/construction preferred)
- Knowledge of hot works permit processes and fire safety protocols
- Ability to follow strict safety procedures and escalation routes
- Competent in (or willing to be trained in) the use of thermal imaging equipment
- Physically fit to patrol and remain on duty during extended periods
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
