As a Fire Safety Engineering Lead, you will be at the forefront of delivering strategic fire safety and engineering solutions for high-profile projects. Your expertise will guide the development and implementation of fire safety strategies, ensuring compliance with industry standards and enhancing safety measures across complex infrastructure and building projects. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams, manage client relationships, and drive innovation in fire systems design and safety engineering.

You will have substantial experience designing complex projects, including mobility, building, and infrastructure projects across various regions. Your role involves conducting risk assessments, managing projects and teams, interfacing with other disciplines and clients, and providing solutions for complex issues. Additionally, you will support bids, review estimates produced by pursuit teams, and contribute to training and mentoring.

Reporting to the Team Technical Director, you will provide technical leadership for assigned projects to ensure successful delivery. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects, further enhancing your skills and technical expertise.

Key responsibilities include leading continual improvement in safety, health, and environmental performance; providing technical leadership in fire systems and safety engineering; managing team development; driving efficiency through standardization and automation; maintaining strong client relationships; conducting design reviews; planning resource requirements; contributing to business development; championing team skill-building; raising technical excellence; and supporting sustainable development initiatives aligned with NetZero goals.

Experience
- 20+ years of design experience across mobility, building, and infrastructure projects
- Proven ability to independently lead and manage complex design projects
- Recognized technical authority in Fire Systems and Safety Engineering
- Experience delivering technically excellent solutions for clients such as London Underground, Network Rail, and D&B Contractors
- In-depth knowledge of fire systems engineering including installations, commissioning, and validation of safety-critical designs
- Strong understanding of relevant fire safety codes, standards, and regulations
- Proven stakeholder management skills and ability to build relationships at senior levels
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously within multidisciplinary teams
- Significant commercial experience including preparing proposals, tenders, and business strategies
- Experience delivering projects in 3D BIM environments and familiarity with common data environments such as ProjectWise
- Flexibility to travel within the UK and abroad as required

Qualifications
- BEng/BSc Degree in Safety and Fire Engineering; MEng/MSc preferred
- Membership with the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) and Chartered Engineer (CEng) status
