Net Zero Careers Accelerator (NZCA) connects motivated individuals with skilled trade roles across building services, construction, and mechanical installation. We work with employers delivering high-spec, sustainable systems across new build and retrofit projects.

We are currently recruiting a Fitter’s Mate to join an experienced installation team working on live construction projects. This is a hands-on, full-time opportunity ideal for someone looking to develop skills in ductwork installation, pressure testing, and mechanical support services.

Must live in one of the following boroughs:
Camden, Hackney, Haringey, Islington, Southwark, Lambeth, Kensington and Chelsea, Lewisham, Tower Hamlets, Wandsworth or Westminster.

What You Will Do:
• Assist ductwork fitters with the installation of ventilation systems and in-line equipment
• Support all aspects of mechanical site operations across different phases of the build
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to site rules and toolbox talk guidance
• Clean internal duct surfaces and cap open ends at the end of each shift
• Help offload and transport deliveries to correct site locations and floors
• Ensure materials and ductwork are stored properly using polythene, tarps, and pallets
• Carry out fire damper drop tests and assist with duct pressure testing
• Report safety concerns or equipment issues to your supervisor
• Maintain company tools and hired equipment in good, safe working order
• Support with de-snagging and handover processes for completed systems

What We Are Looking For:
• Basic site experience or interest in mechanical installation
• Physically fit and comfortable working in active site environments
• Positive, safety-conscious mindset
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail
• Able to follow instructions and communicate effectively with team members
• Level 2 NVQ in a relevant trade (desirable – training can be provided if not yet held)
• Valid CSCS card (required)

Pay:
£13.85/hour

Location:
Various sites across London (exact site provided upon placement)

Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, full-time (site hours confirmed on placement)

Job Type:
Full-time, Temporary or Permanent (depending on business need)

Compliance and Safety:
Strict adherence to Health & Safety regulations is essential. All new starters must complete a safe start induction before beginning work on site.
