About the Role

We are expanding our world-class Ground and Water team and have opportunities for Geo-Environmental and Contaminated Land Consultants and Assistant Consultants. This role focuses on supporting contaminated land assessment and remediation projects, offering excellent career development potential through training and mentoring. You will be involved in site work, including supervision and management of site investigations, soil logging, environmental sampling, and ground gas monitoring. Your responsibilities will also include data collation, review and interpretation, site investigation design, and preparation of technical reports such as desk studies, site investigation reports, remediation options appraisals, and verification reports. All work must adhere to the highest safety, health, and environmental standards.
A typical week may involve Phase 1 Desk Study research and reporting, Phase 2 Site Investigation design and supervision, soil sampling and logging, subcontractor management, risk assessments, and client communication. You will work closely with project teams and contribute to delivering projects that support energy transition and nuclear decommissioning initiatives. Experience
- On-site experience of site investigation and similar field works
- Preparation of Phase 1 contaminated land/geo-environmental desk studies
- Knowledge of planning, designing and managing site investigations
- Experience of soil logging
- Application of Construction Design and Management (CDM) Regulations in site investigations
- Understanding of UK land contamination regime and risk-based assessment approach
- Report writing skills, presenting complex technical information clearly and accurately

Qualifications
- Relevant degree in chemistry, biology, geology, engineering, environmental science or related discipline
- Working towards or prepared to work towards Chartership with a relevant institution
- Full UK driving licence required for site visits
