About the Role
Cundall’s leading Sustainability & Building Physics team is a key part of our international business. As a recognised leader in sustainability across the world, our team believes there is much more to achieve. With a brilliant track record of designing innovative, sustainable and energy efficient solutions that minimise the use of natural resources, the team is looking for passionate graduates eager to make a positive environmental impact and improve homes, offices, industry and communities.
Join our Sustainability Team and contribute to innovative and award-winning projects such as the Hong Kong Science Park, Australia’s first 6 star Green Star community, and the largest bio-medical precinct in the Southern Hemisphere.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on some of the most exciting sustainable design projects in the UK and globally. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, you will develop your skills in energy modelling and assist with energy and sustainability strategies for new and existing buildings. Projects include:
- Building physics and parametric model services
- Building performance and operational energy optimisation
- Certification and compliance
- Health and wellbeing advice and guidance
- Net zero and whole life carbon services
- Sustainability design and ESG services
As your skills develop, you will be encouraged and supported to work towards Chartership through accredited training schemes.
Please note this position is to start in September 2027.
Experience
On target to achieve at least a 2:2 degree. Demonstrable knowledge and experience of building physics, particularly heat transfer, energy, thermal comfort and natural ventilation. Experience with climate-based daylighting analysis, operational energy calculation (TM54), sustainability rating tools such as BREEAM and life cycle carbon costing is beneficial.
About you
Organised and methodical in managing tasks and priorities, striving to meet deadlines. Collaborative with excellent written and verbal communication skills for internal and external stakeholders. Able to use initiative to overcome challenges with a positive, can-do attitude. Passionate about sustainability and eager to make a difference.
Digital engineering is a key focus, so understanding Parametric Modelling Techniques (Grasshopper or Dynamo) or at least one modern programming language (e.g. Python, C#, VB) is desirable.
Qualifications
Desirable to hold or be on course to achieve a BEng/MEng degree in Sustainable Engineering or the Built Environment (or equivalent). Must have the right to work in the UK as sponsorship is not provided.
