About the Role
PLEASE NOTE THIS POSITION IS TO START IN SEPTEMBER 2027. Cundall’s leading Sustainability & Building Physics team is a key part of our international business. As a recognised leader in sustainability worldwide, our team is committed to designing innovative, sustainable, and energy-efficient solutions that minimise the use of natural resources. We are seeking passionate graduates to join us in making a positive impact on the environment and improving homes, offices, industry, and communities.
Join our Sustainability Team and contribute to innovative and award-winning projects such as the Hong Kong Science Park, Australia’s first 6 star Green Star community, and the largest bio-medical precinct in the Southern Hemisphere.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on some of the most exciting sustainable design projects in Ireland and globally. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, you will develop your skills in energy modelling and assist with energy and sustainability strategies for new and existing buildings. Projects will include workstreams such as building physics and parametric modelling, building performance optimisation, certification and compliance, health and wellbeing advice, net zero and whole life carbon services, and sustainability design and ESG services.
As you grow professionally, you will be supported to take on greater responsibility and encouraged to pursue Chartership through accredited training schemes.
Experience
On target to achieve at least a 2:2 degree. Demonstrable knowledge and experience of building physics, particularly heat transfer, energy, thermal comfort, and natural ventilation. Experience or understanding of climate-based daylighting analysis, operational energy calculation (TM54), sustainability rating tools such as BREEAM, and life cycle carbon costing is highly beneficial.
About you
Organised and methodical in managing tasks and priorities, striving to meet deadlines. Collaborative with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to engage with internal and external stakeholders. Proactive and positive attitude with the ability to use initiative to overcome challenges.
Digital engineering is a key focus at Cundall, so an understanding of parametric modelling techniques (Grasshopper or Dynamo) or proficiency in a modern programming language (e.g. Python, C#, VB) is desirable.
Qualifications
Desirable to be accredited with or on course to achieve a BEng/MEng degree level in Sustainable Engineering or the Built Environment (or equivalent). Must have the right to work in the UK as sponsorship is not provided for this role.
