As a Junior Consultant Town Planner, you will contribute to the success of the town planning team at Arcadis, supporting the wider team to win and deliver outstanding work for our clients and to build positive relationships within Arcadis and beyond. You will be an integral part of an integrated planning and environmental team, delivering projects for a range of clients with opportunities to work across multiple sectors.
Role Accountabilities
Deliver high-quality technical work as part of a team, ensuring relevant professional guidance, policy and practice is adhered to. Work with senior colleagues to manage your time effectively to ensure timely delivery and efficient utilisation. Collaborate with other sectors and disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall solution. Develop effective working relationships with project leads and, where appropriate, with clients, ensuring clear communication of progress and changes. Maintain an understanding of Arcadis services, client business, and industry sectors to facilitate personal networking and consolidate both personal and company credibility. Proactively engage with relevant Arcadis policies, procedures and processes, carrying out your role in accordance with Arcadis General Business Principles.
Experience
Relevant experience in town planning or a directly related profession, with some practical application of key principles. Competent in town planning skills relevant to your area of work, such as development planning, planning policy, or infrastructure planning. Basic knowledge of related disciplines.
About you
Good interpersonal and communication skills. Strong time management abilities. Effective technical, project management, client relationship management, and commercial skills. An understanding of Environmental, Safety and Risk Management principles. Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, preferably accredited by the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) or equivalent. Eligibility for achieving Chartered status or equivalent professional accreditation. Advanced proficiency with relevant desktop applications.
