About the Role
Join a large company specialising in plumbing work on new build properties for leading builders such as Berkley, Taylor Wimpey, Bellway, and Pye Homes. As an apprentice, you will gain hands-on experience working within new build homes, learning plumbing, heating, and renewable energy skills. Your duties will include general plumbing repairs and maintenance, central heating servicing and installation, boiler servicing and installation, bathroom and kitchen installation, and assisting skilled plumbers with various tasks.

You will learn to plan, select, size, prepare, install, test, commission, fault find, diagnose, rectify, service, maintain, and decommission plumbing and heating systems. You will develop skills in precision measuring, marking, cutting, and installing components, interpreting technical drawings, and working to specifications.

Health and safety is a priority; you will be trained to work safely with hand tools, portable power tools, and equipment, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). You will maintain a clean and organised work environment, handle and store materials safely, and follow verbal and written instructions from supervisors.

Additional opportunities include observing other trades to understand the sequence of work on building projects. Apprentices may also assist with site cleaning and general labouring tasks.

This apprenticeship lasts 4 years and includes regular training with Abingdon and Witney College or other training organisations, with at least 20% of your working hours dedicated to training or studying. Apprentices attend college one day per week. Recruitment is focused on candidates living in Newbury, Basingstoke, Andover, Aylesbury, Witney, Maidenhead, and Slough.

Qualifications
GCSEs in English (grade 4 or above), Maths (grade 4 or above), and Driving (grade Pass) are essential. Please inform the company of any other relevant qualifications or industry experience, as the apprenticeship can be adjusted accordingly.

Experience
