About the Role
At WSP, you will have the opportunity to contribute to landmark projects and work alongside some of the brightest minds in environmental consultancy. We are seeking a Principal level environmental professional to join our Environmental Management and Assessment Team in the UK. Our portfolio spans multiple sectors including onshore and offshore renewables, aviation, nuclear, rail, highways, energy, and commercial/residential developments. You will lead environmental teams and inputs to project designs and assessments, influencing and improving environmental performance across the project lifecycle from feasibility through to planning, detailed design, construction, and handover/maintenance.
Key responsibilities include providing environmental advice and support to clients and project teams, leading large and complex projects, managing project delivery and financial aspects, building client relationships, and driving business development activities. You will also contribute to innovation in environmental assessment techniques such as Digital EIA and promote a positive team culture focused on health, safety, wellbeing, and inclusivity.

Experience
- Extensive experience in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and EIA processes within multi-disciplinary teams.
- Proven track record of working on large-scale infrastructure projects such as rail, highways, energy, and commercial/residential developments.
- Strong project management skills including commercial, risk management, forecasting, and quality assurance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including report writing and reviewing with attention to detail.
- Ability to work with limited supervision and lead technical teams.
- Knowledge of relevant environmental and planning legislation.

Qualifications
- Relevant environmental degree or equivalent qualification in EIA or related field.
- Chartered Environmental Status or demonstrably working towards it.
- Full membership of IEMA or similar professional body.
