About the Role

As a Principal Civil Engineer at Arcadis, you will play a key role in delivering rail infrastructure projects across the UK. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will provide technical leadership, oversee the development of high-quality design solutions, and support successful project delivery for our clients.
In this role, you will lead project teams, work closely with clients, and contribute to the development of the next generation of engineers. You will champion safety, health, and environmental best practices and collaborate with local and global teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions.
Experience
- Proven experience delivering rail infrastructure projects and leading design teams
- Experience as a Contractor's Responsible Engineer (CRE) on Network Rail projects
- Strong knowledge of Eurocodes, Network Rail standards, and relevant design software such as LUSAS, MIDAS, Bentley products, and ProjectWise
- Experience with projects involving stations, structures, and lineside ancillary assets
- Understanding of site surveys, construction challenges, and CDM Regulations
- Strong technical, report-writing, and client-facing skills

Qualifications
- BSc/BEng or MSc/MEng in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or working towards chartership (desirable)
