About the Role

As a Principal Contaminated Land / Geo-Environmental Consultant, you will support contaminated land assessment and remediation projects across the UK. You will be part of a world-class team delivering high-calibre service and technical excellence on key regional, national, and global projects. Your role will involve project and task management, overseeing site investigations, supervising fieldwork including soil logging, environmental sampling, chemical and geotechnical testing, groundwater sampling, and ground gas monitoring. You will collate, review, and interpret data, prepare and review technical reports such as desk studies, ground investigation reports, remediation options appraisals, and verification reports. You will also design site investigations, develop client relationships, and ensure all work complies with safety, health, and environmental standards. Supporting early career professionals and contributing to a collaborative team environment are key aspects of this role. Experience
- Knowledge of planning, designing, and managing site investigations
- Understanding and application of Construction Design and Management (CDM) Regulations
- Familiarity with the UK land contamination regime and risk-based assessment approaches
- Report writing skills with the ability to present complex technical information clearly
- Data handling experience; GIS knowledge is desirable
- Awareness of different regulatory regimes including development planning consenting, environmental permitting, due diligence, nuclear site end states, and environmental impact assessment
- Expertise in specialist technical areas such as quantitative risk assessment, waste/material management, radiological characterisation, hydrogeology, and remediation

Qualifications
- Relevant technical degree in chemistry, biology, geology, engineering, environmental science, or related discipline
