About the Role
At WSP, you will have the opportunity to work on landmark projects that make a positive impact on communities and the environment. We are seeking a Senior environmental professional to join our Environmental Management and Assessment Team within the London or South East offices. You will support a diverse portfolio of projects across sectors such as energy, aviation, nuclear, rail, property, and local government. This role involves leading environmental teams and inputs throughout the development lifecycle, from feasibility and planning through to detailed design, construction, and handover.
As a Principal EIA Consultant, you will collaborate with technical specialists and design teams to improve environmental performance on complex projects. Your responsibilities will include providing expert environmental advice, managing large and multiple projects, overseeing quality, commercial and health and safety aspects, and building strong client relationships. You will also play a key role in business development, including preparing proposals, delivering bids, and promoting innovative approaches such as Digital EIA and Future Ready EIA.

Experience
- Extensive experience in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and EIA processes within multi-disciplinary teams
- Proven ability to work with limited supervision on large-scale infrastructure projects such as rail, highways, energy, and commercial/residential developments
- Strong knowledge of relevant environmental and planning legislation
- Comprehensive project management skills including commercial, risk management, forecasting, and quality assurance
- Experience in client relationship management, business development, and bid preparation

Qualifications
- Relevant environmental degree or equivalent qualification in EIA or related discipline
- Achieved or working towards Chartered Environmental Status and full membership of IEMA or similar professional body
- Demonstrable commitment to professional development and technical excellence
