About the Role
At WSP, you will have the opportunity to work on landmark projects that make a positive impact on communities and the environment. We are seeking a Senior level environmental professional to join our Environmental Management and Assessment Team within the London or South East offices. Our portfolio spans multiple sectors including energy, aviation, nuclear, rail, property, and local government. As one of the largest environmental consultancies in the UK, we engage with projects ranging from small developments to major national infrastructure schemes.
In this role, you will lead environmental teams and inputs across project lifecycles, from feasibility and planning through to detailed design, construction, and handover. You will work closely with technical specialists and design teams to improve environmental performance and promote sustainable design, environmental enhancement, and compliance with relevant legislation.
Your responsibilities will include providing expert environmental advice, managing complex projects, building client relationships, securing new work through business development, and contributing to innovative approaches such as Digital EIA and Future Ready EIA. You will also play a key role in fostering a positive team culture, supporting career development, and promoting health, safety, and wellbeing within the workplace.

Experience
- Extensive experience in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and EIA processes within multi-disciplinary teams
- Proven track record working on large scale infrastructure projects such as rail, highways, energy, and commercial/residential developments
- Strong project management skills including commercial, risk management, forecasting, and quality assurance
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including report writing and reviewing with attention to detail
- Sound knowledge of relevant environmental and planning legislation

Qualifications
- Relevant environmental degree or equivalent qualification in EIA or related field
- Achieved or working towards Chartered Environmental Status and full membership of IEMA or similar professional body
