About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to join our Connect Plus Services (CPS) team, supporting the M25 London Orbital Motorway project. CPS is a joint venture between Balfour Beatty, Atkins and Egis, responsible for operating and maintaining the M25—Europe’s busiest motorway. Delivering over £100m of annual investment alongside planned and reactive maintenance, this is a complex and high-profile network requiring robust and efficient planning. If you are building a career in highways, this role offers exposure to one of the UK’s most challenging and dynamic infrastructure environments.

The Project Manager delivers project objectives with respect to the six key areas of performance: Health & Safety, Quality, Cost, Environment, Delivery and People. We are looking for a dynamic and self-motivated individual with a strong project background to join this fast-paced team to deliver the more complex highways and technology schemes throughout their whole project lifecycle. Schemes range in value from £100k to £3m+ and include safety schemes, environmental improvements, technology schemes, remedial works and junction improvement schemes.

Key accountabilities include:
- Developing and maintaining strong collaborative relationships with Portfolio Manager, SPM, Construction/Supervisor Teams and key stakeholders to ensure mutual understanding of project delivery objectives.
- Maintaining compliance with the DBFO contract, clarifying roles and responsibilities, resolving risks and issues promptly, producing accurate reports and managing change control.
- Designing, agreeing and implementing project plans to ensure all activities are organised and resourced to deliver objectives.
- Leading programmes through feasibility, design, construction and handover stages.
- Informing investment proposals at each stage.
- Developing robust cost profiles, identifying risks and resource requirements.
- Identifying and managing emerging risks, issues, dependencies and constraints.
- Commissioning and managing Sub Contractors and Designers, ensuring clear expectations for health and safety, time and cost.
- Supporting the business’ sustainability activities including net zero and biodiversity net gain.
- Working closely with Construction/Supervisor teams to manage permits, certificates and site reporting.
- Managing NEC Contracts options.

Working arrangements include shift work, travel to other offices and depots as required, and periodic site visits including night shifts.
