We’re looking for a proactive and commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of diverse construction projects across [commercial / residential / education / infrastructure – specify as needed]. This is a fantastic opportunity for a QS with strong cost management and contract administration skills to play a pivotal role in project success from start to finish.

You’ll join a collaborative and high-performing commercial team, working on fast-paced and high-value projects where your expertise will directly impact performance and profitability.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Managing all commercial and contractual elements of projects from inception to completion.
• Preparing, submitting, and managing interim valuations, variations, and final accounts.
• Analysing drawings and specifications to provide detailed and accurate cost advice.
• Procuring subcontractors and suppliers, analysing tenders, and negotiating contracts.
• Issuing subcontract orders and monitoring their performance and compliance.
• Conducting monthly cost reports, CVRs, and cash flow forecasts.
• Monitoring budgets, identifying cost risks, and implementing mitigation strategies.
• Providing commercial support to site and project management teams throughout delivery.
• Ensuring contract compliance (JCT, NEC, etc.) and administering contract notices as required.
• Attending client and project team meetings and liaising with external consultants and stakeholders.
• Assisting with dispute resolution and claims when necessary.

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor on construction projects—ideally with a main contractor, subcontractor, or consultancy (specify as appropriate).
• Solid understanding of construction contracts, procurement methods, and commercial practices.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen, with a keen eye for detail and risk mitigation.
• Confident using cost management software such as Excel, CostX, Candy, or COINS.
• Skilled in negotiation, communication, and stakeholder engagement.
• Able to work autonomously and collaboratively across project teams.

Qualifications & Desirable Extras:

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or Construction Management.
• Chartered status (MRICS) or actively working towards it (desirable but not essential).
• CSCS card (preferred).
