We are recruiting on behalf of our client a well established and rapidly growing company specialising in the design, supply, and installation of renewable energy systems. Their work spans both commercial and domestic sectors, delivering integrated low-carbon solutions including:
- Ground and air source heat pumps
- Solar PV
- Mechanical ventilation with heat recovery (MVHR)
- Underfloor heating
- Cooling systems
They are currently seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Sales Engineer to join their team and support the development and delivery of new installation and refurbishment projects. The initial focus will be on smaller ASHP and PV systems, with progression into more complex commercial projects.
Work Arrangement:
This is a hybrid position, with two days per week based in the office and three days working remotely.
The current office is located in Potters Bar, but the company will be relocating to North London in the near future. Site visits to client locations will also be required.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage sales enquiries across domestic and commercial sectors
- Conduct site visits, including heat loss surveys and noise assessments (training provided)
- Use Microsoft Teams for internal collaboration and early-stage client engagement
- Prepare customer quotations, in collaboration with the in-house design team for complex projects
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
- Advise on integrating renewable technologies with other building services
- Contribute to product specification and project planning decisions
Long-Term Responsibilities
- Specify renewable energy systems in cooperation with the design department
- Support large commercial projects by attending site meetings and assisting with installation planning
- Assist with client relationship development and ongoing support
- Contribute to the development and refinement of internal processes, including design guidelines and project planning tools
- Maintain awareness and compliance with relevant regulations and schemes (e.g. RECC, MCS, BUS, Building Regulations) – training will be provided as necessary
Essential:
Experience in renewable energy or a strong technical sales background
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Customer-focused with good organisational ability
- Capable of working both independently and as part of a team
- Confident with IT and digital tools
- Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle
Desirable:
DEA (Domestic Energy Assessor) or Green Deal Assessor qualifications
- Familiarity with current legislation and standards, including Building Regulations
- Experience in project management, specification, and report writing
