About the Role
As a Senior Civil Infrastructure Engineer within our regional Development Team in Birmingham, you will play a key role supporting civil engineering for development infrastructure projects. You will be involved in producing designs, drawings, and technical reports to support masterplanning and planning applications. Your work will span multiple projects and client accounts simultaneously, reporting to a senior team member. Your responsibilities will include providing day-to-day support in delivering concept studies and strategies, hands-on design work leading to planning applications, technical approval submissions, and construction drawing issuance. You will contribute across a variety of development projects and sectors, providing guidance to technical staff and engaging with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary design teams. You will also be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on budget, on time, and to the required technical and legal standards.

Requirements

Experience
- Proven experience in highway/roads design, drainage strategy and design, flood risk assessment and management, utility design and planning
- Knowledge of UK Development Industry practices
- Ability to produce infrastructure masterplans, site appraisals, technical reports, design calculations, and construction drawings
- Familiarity with relevant design codes such as Water UK Sewerage Sector Guidance, Design Manual for Roads & Bridges, Designing Streets, and Local Authority Design Guidance
- Experience using or directing use of software including InfoDrainage, Civils 3D, and/or PDS
- Competence in liaising with clients, co-professionals, and statutory/local authorities to secure technical approvals and statutory agreements
- Understanding of legal, planning, design, technical consents, adoption, and contract procedures related to sewers, SuDS, highways, and utilities for new developments and regeneration projects
- Strong knowledge of financial and contractual aspects of planning, bidding, and project delivery

Qualifications
- Relevant civil engineering degree or equivalent qualification
- Professional membership or working towards Chartered status is desirable
