We are seeking an experienced Senior Cost Consultant to support the successful delivery of major rail programmes, including HS2 and other nationally significant infrastructure projects. This role offers the opportunity to work with leading clients, influence project outcomes, and play a key role in delivering complex schemes that create a lasting impact.
As a Senior Cost Consultant, you will lead the delivery of commercial and cost management services across the full project lifecycle. You will work closely with clients and project teams, providing strategic advice, driving project performance, and ensuring successful outcomes in terms of cost, quality, and value.
Key responsibilities include leading, coaching, and developing team members to enhance cost management service delivery in the rail sector; creating project costings and budgets; managing finances to achieve profit and budgetary targets; leading cost management assignments to meet client expectations; assuring compliance with contracts and organizational policies; analysing complex cost data to support project decision-making; supporting the development of cost and commercial management systems tailored to rail projects; driving innovation in cost management; and building valued relationships with senior clients and stakeholders to foster client satisfaction and business opportunities.
Experience
- Extensive experience delivering cost and commercial management services on major rail or infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of the full project lifecycle, from business case through to project completion.
- Experience working within complex stakeholder environments, ideally including HS2 and other major rail programmes.
- Proven leadership, communication, and client management skills.
- CSCS card holder or able to obtain one.

Qualifications
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline.
- Chartered status or working towards a recognised professional qualification.
