About the Role

As a Senior Contaminated Land / Geo-Environmental Consultant, you will support contaminated land assessment and remediation projects, working on key regional and national projects alongside UK and global frameworks. You will manage site investigations, supervise fieldwork including soil logging, environmental sampling, chemical and geotechnical testing, groundwater sampling, and ground gas monitoring. Your responsibilities will also include data collation, review and interpretation, preparation and review of technical reports such as desk studies, ground investigation reports, remediation options appraisals, and verification reports. You will design site investigations, develop client relationships, and ensure all work complies with safety, health, and environmental standards. Your Team
Our team of over 150 professionals provides land contamination management services across private and public sectors including property, government agencies, industrial, defence, and nuclear sectors. We have expertise across all aspects of contaminated land and exciting projects related to energy transition and nuclear decommissioning. You will be supported by experienced colleagues and have opportunities to engage in professional networks and social activities within the company.
Experience
- Knowledge of planning, designing, and managing site investigations
- Understanding and application of Construction Design and Management (CDM) Regulations for safe design and implementation
- Familiarity with the UK land contamination regime and risk-based assessment approaches
- Report writing skills, presenting complex technical information clearly and accurately
- Data handling experience; GIS skills are desirable
- Awareness of different regulatory regimes including development planning consenting, environmental permitting, due diligence, nuclear site end states, and environmental impact assessment
- Knowledge of specialist technical areas such as quantitative risk assessment, waste/material management, radiological characterisation, hydrogeology, and remediation

Qualifications
- Relevant technical degree in chemistry, biology, geology, engineering, or environmental science
- Working towards or prepared to work towards Chartership/Professional Qualification (e.g. QP) with a relevant institution
