As part of our growing and agile Environmental Planning team, we are seeking a Senior Environmental Consultant with broad Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) experience. You will manage small to medium sized EIA projects and work closely with clients to deliver high-quality environmental outcomes. Your expertise may cover environmental management, technical or sustainability areas including protected species, pollution, surface water and materials management, air quality, or noise.
Our work spans some of the world’s busiest and most beautiful locations, focusing on protecting natural environments and water resources while supporting sustainable development for future generations. You will champion high environmental standards within multidisciplinary engineering projects, influence project development, and coordinate environmental work across teams.
Key responsibilities include managing projects or project components, resource allocation, subcontractor management, quality assurance, client communication, contributing to tender proposals, providing environmental advice, engaging with stakeholders, and developing clear, accessible reports for technical and non-technical audiences. You will also oversee technical, quality, commercial, and health and safety performance on projects.
Experience
- Strong working knowledge of EIA practices, procedures, and environmental and sustainability principles
- Experience across a range of project types, ideally including energy, residential/mixed use/regeneration sectors, and major infrastructure projects such as rail and highways
- Practical understanding of the UK planning system and consenting process
- Proven report writing, verbal, and presentation skills with experience reviewing others’ work to ensure quality
- Experience in multi-disciplinary project coordination, project management, and technical delivery
- Skilled in consulting and negotiating with planning authorities, regulators, and stakeholders

Qualifications
- Relevant environmental or sustainability qualifications
- Desired: Experience delivering Strategic Environmental Assessments (SEA) and/or Integrated Impact Assessments (IIA)
- Desired: Knowledge and application of sustainability, waste, or carbon assessments
- Desired: Associate Membership of IEMA
