About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Environmental (EIA) Consultant to join our Environmental Management and Assessment Team within the London or South East offices. Our portfolio spans diverse sectors including energy, aviation, nuclear, rail, property, and local government. You will play a key role in managing environmental inputs throughout the project lifecycle, from early concept and option stages through to consent application, detailed design, construction, and handover.
As part of one of the UK's largest environmental consultancies, you will collaborate with technical specialists and design teams to promote sustainable design, environmental enhancement, and compliance with environmental legislation. Your work will contribute to improved habitats, cleaner air and water, lower carbon emissions, and overall environmental gain.
This role is ideal for a proactive individual eager to influence, manage, and deliver environmental elements of engineering projects across multiple sectors. You will be responsible for project management activities including bidding, team leadership, delivery, and financial oversight, while supporting junior colleagues and promoting a positive health, safety, and wellbeing culture.
A typical week may include providing environmental advice to clients and colleagues, managing environmental assessments such as EIA screening and scoping reports, environmental constraints studies, and Environmental Statements, building client relationships, supporting business development, and contributing to innovative approaches such as Digital EIA and Technical Excellence.

Experience
- Relevant post-qualified experience coordinating environmental assessments and EIA processes within multi-disciplinary teams
- Experience working with limited supervision on diverse projects across sectors such as rail, highways, energy, and commercial/residential developments
- Knowledge of environmental and planning legislation relevant to EIA
- Experience in project management including commercial, risk, forecasting, and quality assurance aspects
- Proven track record in work winning, bid preparation, and client liaison
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including detailed report writing
- Demonstrable commitment to promoting health, safety, and wellbeing culture

Qualifications
- Relevant environmental degree or equivalent qualification in EIA or related field
- Achieved or working towards Chartered Environmental Status and full membership of IEMA or similar professional body
