As part of WSP's Earth & Environment discipline, we provide leadership and tailored support across all stages of project delivery, including PMO, Project Controls, Project Manager, and Project Director roles.

In this senior leadership role, you will be a visible environmental leader for WSP, reporting to the Environmental Project Management Team Leader. Your focus will be on project delivery as a designated Project Manager or Project Director, leading multi-disciplinary projects within Earth & Environment. Projects vary widely and include some of the UK's most significant large-scale infrastructure schemes across sectors such as highways, rail, aviation, defence, nuclear, residential and property, energy generation and renewables, and transmission and distribution. You will support projects throughout the planning and construction phases.

Role Summary
- Leadership: Act as the Environmental lead project manager on large, complex, and high-value multi-disciplinary projects, ensuring implementation of programme, commercial, and quality aspects while promoting health and safety, inclusion, and diversity.
- Team Management: Form and manage high-performing project teams, inspiring and energising them to deliver exemplary work.
- Environmental Principles and Expertise: Deliver environmental principles including regulatory compliance, mitigation and management of environmental impact, stakeholder engagement, and sustainability. Oversee baseline data management, survey planning, and interface with enabling works.
- Project Governance: Actively manage project change and risks, ensuring adherence to project governance and delivering compliant, optimised projects.

Requirements

Experience
- Proven experience as an environmental consultant with knowledge of environmental impact assessments, sustainability, regulatory compliance, baseline data management, survey planning, and construction or enabling works interface.
- Demonstrated success managing multi-disciplinary environmental projects with a strong focus on client satisfaction and high-quality outcomes.
- Background in leading project teams, fostering collaboration, and ensuring successful project delivery within set parameters.
- Strong commercial and contractual management skills, including experience with Professional Services Contracts such as NEC3/4.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, able to clearly articulate key points to diverse audiences.

Qualifications
- Relevant environmental consultancy qualifications or equivalent experience preferred.
- Professional accreditation or progress towards Chartership is advantageous.
