About the Role
What if you could do the kind of work the world needs? At WSP, you can access our global scale, contribute to landmark projects and connect with the brightest minds in your field to do the best work of your life. You can embrace your curiosity in a culture that celebrates new ideas and diverse perspectives. You can experience a world of opportunity and the chance to shape a career as unique as you.

We are a committed and successful Project Management team focusing on environmental projects, growing in 2025 to support WSP's robust pipeline of secured projects. Our friendly, supportive, and collaborative culture allows team members to develop skills and grow. As a centre of excellence within WSP's Earth & Environment discipline, we provide leadership and tailored support across all project delivery stages including PMO, Project Controls, Project Manager, and Project Director roles.

As a Senior Environmental Project Manager, you will be a visible environmental leader for WSP, reporting to the Environmental Project Management Team Leader. Your focus will be on senior project leadership, typically as the designated Project Manager or Project Director, leading multi-disciplinary projects for our Earth & Environment business. Projects range from some of the UK's most exciting and nationally important large-scale infrastructure schemes across sectors such as highways, rail, aviation, defence, nuclear, residential and property, energy generation and renewables, and transmission and distribution.

Your responsibilities will include leading large, complex, and high-value multi-disciplinary projects as the Environmental lead project manager, ensuring implementation of project management fundamentals including programme, commercial, and quality, while promoting health and safety, inclusion, and diversity. You will form and manage high-performing project teams, inspiring and energising them to deliver exemplary work.

You will oversee the delivery of environmental principles on projects including regulatory compliance, mitigation and management of environmental impact, stakeholder engagement, and sustainability. This may include baseline data management, survey planning, and interface with enabling works. A robust working knowledge of key environmental disciplines and consultancy services is essential.

Additionally, you will actively manage project change and risks, ensuring adherence to project governance and delivering compliant and optimised projects.

WSP offers a hybrid working policy with flexibility to work from home two days a week and opportunities to collaborate in modern offices across the UK. We foster a culture of inclusivity, belonging, and wellbeing, supporting your health through programmes like Thrive and offering flexible working arrangements to enhance work-life balance. We invest in your development through training, mentoring, and support towards professional Chartership.
