Job Title: Solar Compliance & Operations Manager
Location: Manchester (Office-Based, with occasional UK-wide travel)
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum (DOE)
Hours: Full-time, Monday - Friday
About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced Solar Compliance & Operations Manager to lead and manage our solar installation operations. In this senior role, you’ll ensure every installation meets the highest quality, safety, and regulatory standards while driving operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the solar operations and installation coordination team
- Oversee planning and scheduling of employed and subcontracted teams (roofers, electricians, scaffolders, delivery partners)
- Review installation surveys, completion records, and compliance documentation
- Ensure all work meets MCS, RECC, NICEIC, and UK electrical safety standards
- Onboard new engineers, verifying qualifications, insurances, and compliance
- Coordinate materials and logistics with national solar suppliers
- Implement and manage van stock control and monitoring systems
- Oversee cost control, purchase orders, and operational budgets
- Track progress, compliance, and quality using job management systems
- Drive continuous improvement across installation, compliance, and customer satisfaction processes
About You
You’re a technically knowledgeable, organised, and motivated professional with a strong background in electrical installations and solar operations. You thrive in a leadership role, ensuring teams perform efficiently while upholding the highest standards.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Electrically qualified (AM2 or Level 3 NVQ)
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certified
- Inspection & Testing qualification (2391 or equivalent)
- Proven experience managing or supervising solar PV operations
- Strong understanding of solar PV systems and installation best practices
- Familiarity with MCS, RECC, and NICEIC compliance requirements
- Excellent communication, planning, and leadership skills
- Experience using job management or CRM software
Desirable:
- Small Scale Solar PV Systems Level 3 qualification (or equivalent)
- Hands-on experience installing solar PV systems
