During your 10–12-week internship or 12-month placement, you will be exposed to real projects and clients, gaining a wide range of experiences to immerse yourself in.

Arcadis has a long history in geotechnical and ground engineering, dating back to 1888. Our teams are involved in high-profile projects such as High Speed 2, London Bridge Station, Lower Thames Crossing, and Ontario Line underground improvements. We work across sectors including Rail, Highways, Water, and Energy.

As an intern, you will assist in delivering foundation, retaining wall, ground improvement, and earthworks designs. Your tasks will include undertaking desk studies, specifying and scoping intrusive ground investigations, producing interpretive reports, geotechnical designs, and recommendations for various geotechnical solutions. You will also use innovative digital tools for accurate ground modelling and geotechnical analysis.

Requirements

Experience
Currently working towards a degree in a relevant subject such as MEng or MSc in Geotechnical or Engineering Geology, Civil Engineering.

About you
- Demonstrate resilience, creativity, analytical thinking, and teamwork skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to use technical knowledge to influence and consult stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel and stay away from home when required (virtual working embraced where possible).

Qualifications
Working towards a degree in a relevant engineering or geotechnical discipline.
