About the Role
Arcadis is the world's leading company delivering sustainable design, engineering, and consultancy solutions for natural and built assets. With over 34,000 people in more than 30 countries, we are dedicated to improving quality of life by solving complex challenges together. Our paid Intern & Placement programme offers a hands-on insight into our work and helps develop skills and knowledge within your chosen field. Supported by structured training, the programme is based on Arcadis’ core values, providing both technical training and personal and professional development.

As a specialist and science graduate joining GROW, you will specialise from day one in your chosen discipline. Working in teams of consultants, you will be responsible for your own deliverables, liaise with clients, and have opportunities to build your skillsets and technical expertise. You will work on a variety of environmental and planning projects including major infrastructure, urban regeneration, and community-focused initiatives.

Within the Ground Investigation Contracting discipline of our award-winning Site Evaluation and Restoration team, you will undertake site-based ground investigations to collect data on ground conditions supporting property and infrastructure development schemes. Early on, you will shadow experienced engineers on site, progress to supervising your own investigations, or contribute as part of a team on larger projects, ensuring delivery to high standards.

You will be guided through obtaining relevant safety qualifications and receive soil and rock logging training under experienced geologists’ supervision. Site work is a key part of your development, alongside producing reports, Health and Safety documentation, and gaining an understanding of the commercial and project planning aspects of ground investigation practice.
