During your 10–12-week internship or 12-month placement, you will be exposed to real projects and clients, gaining a range of experiences to immerse yourself in. As a Transport Planner intern, you will contribute to planning, improving, managing, and designing transport systems at local, regional, and national levels. You will help design and deliver innovative, sustainable transport solutions that enhance urban mobility and quality of life.
Working alongside experts, you will support strategy development, transport modelling, infrastructure planning, and stakeholder engagement. You will use digital tools and data analytics on projects ranging from active travel and public transport upgrades to major infrastructure assessments, helping clients create safer, low-carbon, and connected cities. This role offers opportunities to develop your technical, analytical, and communication skills while making a positive impact on communities and the environment.
Experience
You will be working towards a degree in a relevant subject and demonstrate typical Arcadian skills including resilience, creativity, analytical thinking, and being a team player.
About you
Excellent communication skills with the ability to use your technical knowledge to influence and consult stakeholders. Willingness to travel and stay away from home when required (where possible we embrace virtual working).
Qualifications
Accepted degrees include BEng, BSc, MEng or MSc in Transport Planning, Transport Planning & Engineering, Transport & the Environment, Geography, Urban Planning, Maths, Economics, Engineering (any description), Computer Science, or related fields.
