We are currently recruiting a Sustainability Apprentice to support the delivery of low-carbon initiatives, community engagement, and decarbonisation efforts within a social housing environment. This is a two-year, full-time paid apprenticeship — ideal for someone passionate about climate action, green innovation, and sustainable housing.

What You’ll Do:

• Contribute to the development and implementation of sustainability strategies

• Support workstreams that reduce energy use, carbon emissions, and environmental impact

• Help promote green initiatives such as waste reduction, active travel, and nature enhancement

• Attend college and complete coursework in line with your apprenticeship training plan

• Work with the Sustainability Lead and strategic asset management team on community projects

• Participate in internal reviews, meetings, and training sessions

• Liaise with residents, colleagues, and external stakeholders to support climate goals

• Keep accurate documentation and records to support audits and compliance

• Maintain a high standard of customer service and professionalism

• Positively represent the organisation’s values in your day-to-day work

What We’re Looking For:

• A strong interest in sustainability, climate change, and community improvement

• 4 GCSEs including English, Maths and ideally a practical subject

• Good communication, organisation, and teamwork skills

• Willingness to learn and contribute to meaningful change

• Commitment to completing a two-year apprenticeship and obtaining a qualification

• Ability to handle confidential information and act professionally at all times

• Experience in social housing (desirable but not essential)

• Confident using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook (training can be provided)

Pay:
£25,927 per year

South East London (office-based with local community engagement)
