About the Role
At WSP, you will have the opportunity to work on landmark projects that address critical groundwater challenges across water resources, environmental, and infrastructure sectors. As a Technical Director leading the Catchment Science team within our Sustainable Water Management Consulting group, you will oversee the technical delivery of projects involving water resources hydrogeology, groundwater modelling, flooding, monitoring, and quality. Your role will include project direction with financial and quality assurance responsibilities, mentoring junior colleagues, and collaborating closely with other disciplines and teams across WSP's global business. You will also play a key role in developing hydrogeology training programmes and securing a strong pipeline of project work. This position offers significant scope for career progression during a period of succession and growth. You will contribute to high-profile UK and international projects, working with government agencies, water companies, and various industrial sectors. Requirements

Experience
- Extensive experience in groundwater and water resources modelling to support resource estimation, management, and environmental impact assessments
- Strong understanding of UK hydrogeology and regulatory frameworks
- Proven project management skills, including financial and change control, with experience managing projects from inception to completion
- Experience with framework management is desirable
- Demonstrated success in client engagement, business development, and preparing winning proposals
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to mentor and influence junior staff
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to identify and develop business opportunities
- Exceptional report writing, technical review, numerical, and analytical skills with attention to detail

Qualifications
- MSc in Hydrogeology combined with a BSc degree in a related discipline such as geology, geotechnical engineering, civil engineering, or environmental science
- Chartered status or working towards chartership with a relevant professional body
