About the Role
Join Veolia’s two-year Trainee Solicitor programme starting September 2026 and gain invaluable experience across various areas of law while supporting our purpose of Ecological Transformation. You will primarily support our construction teams, working directly with Senior Counsel for construction on major infrastructure and environmental projects in the waste, energy, and water sectors. This role offers specialist expertise in construction law, including contract drafting (NEC, JCT, FIDIC), dispute resolution, the Construction Acts, Building Safety Act 2022, and project delivery from inception to completion. You will also assist with contract negotiations, variations, and claims management, while gaining broader experience in commercial law, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, planning law, and intellectual property.
Our comprehensive Trainee Programme includes hands-on experience with strategic projects and expert training through monthly sessions at our Kingswood (Cannock) office (travel required). Experience
Recent graduate with completed Legal Practice Course or Solicitors Qualifying Examination, available to join in September 2026. Interest in construction industry, construction law, and infrastructure projects. Understanding of or willingness to learn construction contract frameworks (NEC, JCT, FIDIC).
About you
Self-starter with excellent attention to detail and ability to handle tasks confidentially. Able to manage assigned tasks assertively, efficiently, and timely. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to providing industry-leading customer service. Desire to achieve admission as a solicitor upon completion of the training course.
