The role of Turbine O&M Technician supports the Turbine O&M Team in delivering specific projects by providing technical assistance to resolve ongoing issues and implement improvements. Candidates should have a technical background in mechanical and/or electrical systems, preferably in turbine disciplines, with strong analytical fault-finding skills across Electrical, Mechanical, and Hydraulic systems. Experience with Vestas V80 MK2 and 5 wind turbines is highly valued.
This position suits an experienced Wind Turbine Technician eager to develop their capabilities in high-quality maintenance activities and contribute positively to business development. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, and proficiency in customer interface at site level and pre-task coordination are essential. The role requires preparation of Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and other client-required procedures, with a strong commitment to Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental standards.
Training will be provided for the right candidate, including gearbox inspections, use of specialised equipment such as vibration analysis, ultrasound, borescope, and thermal imaging, analytical fault finding, blade repair, technical issue resolution, main component replacements, tooling specification, technical auditing, reporting, and in-house technical training delivery.
Experience
- Technical background in mechanical and/or electrical systems, preferably turbine-related
- Analytical fault-finding on Electrical, Mechanical & Hydraulic systems
- Experience with Vestas V80 MK2 and 5 wind turbines highly valued
- Wind turbine maintenance and large component exchange
- Managing heavy lifting and working at height
- Use of hydraulic tooling and blade repairs
- Health & Safety focused environment experience including Risk Assessments, CoSSH, MS, and WTSR
