About the Role

As a Technician (Solar), you will be a key member of an industry-leading team performing operations and maintenance on utility-scale ground mounted Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). Your role will focus on ensuring outstanding safety, quality, and performance of the plants within operational budget.

This field-based position requires a fully qualified electrician with experience in operating and maintaining MW-scale power plants, including DC and High Voltage electrical competencies. You will undertake planned inspections, maintenance, fault diagnosis, and reactive repairs on AC and DC systems, sensors, communication equipment, and computer-based devices. You will also induct and manage subcontractors, maintain accurate records, and communicate closely with the O&M office and team.

Experience
- Reading, writing, and amending Risk Assessments and Method Statements
- Liaising with equipment vendors to support fault diagnosis
- DC and LV installation, fault finding, testing, and commissioning
- Working remotely without close supervision
- Solar PV installation and O&M experience (MW-scale or large commercial ground-mount)
- Battery storage installation and O&M experience (MW-scale) desirable
- Installing or maintaining ethernet and fibre optic communications
- Working with SCADA or data monitoring systems
- Experience with central inverters and High Voltage switchgear

Qualifications
- Full UK driving licence
- Approved Electrician status
- Inspection and testing qualifications (e.g. C&G 2391 or 2394/5) highly valued
