About the Role
Are you passionate about nature and want to make a real difference? We are seeking an inspiring individual to empower and grow our RSPB Youth Group network by providing leadership, advice, and support. In this role, you will shape the next generation of nature champions by working through volunteers. You will provide regional coordination and direction of RSPB Youth Group operations, building volunteer capability across England. Working collaboratively, you will develop high-quality initiatives that enable Youth Groups to inspire new and more diverse support, giving nature a voice in more communities.
You will advocate for RSPB Youth Groups, embedding them within area teams, projects, and activities as part of our strategic outcomes to tackle the nature and climate emergency. Ensuring Youth Groups follow RSPB policies and legal requirements, you will monitor and evaluate their activities to demonstrate their positive impact and contribution to RSPB’s strategic goals. You will identify, develop, and deliver training and resources to maximise Youth Groups’ impact for nature.
As a champion for RSPB Youth Groups, you will raise awareness internally and externally through communications planning to ensure their contribution is celebrated and valued. You will lead, manage, and support a team of country expert volunteers to assist with these objectives.
Experience
- Strong understanding of best practice and sector standards in working with young people in non-formal youth settings.
- Proven ability to design, develop, and successfully deliver activities that engage and inspire young people.
- Knowledge and understanding of volunteering best practice, innovation, and sector standards.
- Experience in developing volunteering roles and managing volunteers.
- Skilled in delivering operational advice, guidance, and training to individuals at all levels.
- Experience building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships to drive collaboration and results.
- Experience designing and delivering youth-focused projects that achieve measurable improvements.

Qualifications
This role requires completion of a DBS check in addition to standard pre-employment checks. A pre-existing Right to Work in the UK is essential as this role is not eligible for UK Visa Sponsorship.
