About the Role
Join WSP's Transport Decarbonisation and Sustainability (TDS) team as part of the 2026 Graduate Programme, where you will contribute to tackling climate change by decarbonising transport. Working within a leading Engineering and Professional Advisory consultancy, you will collaborate on landmark projects and engage with a diverse range of clients. The TDS team is a group of carbon specialists embedded within the wider Transport & Mobility business unit, focused on bringing carbon considerations to the forefront of transport planning.

The team delivers a wide range of decarbonisation services including carbon assessment and management for transport infrastructure projects, quantification of carbon emissions to inform transport strategies, development of carbon management policies, authoring government guidance, and climate risk screening. Since its inception, the team has influenced industry change through authoring Department for Transport guidance, supporting regional decarbonisation strategies, advising local authorities, and developing carbon policies for major transport programmes.

Your day-to-day activities may include:
- Whole Life Carbon Assessment using specialist tools to identify carbon hotspots
- Facilitating carbon management workshops and identifying reduction opportunities
- Data collection and analysis to forecast transport emissions
- Translating technical insights into clear reports
- Assisting with project planning and delivery
- Staying updated with industry innovation and trends
- Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to develop holistic decarbonisation solutions.

The two-year Graduate Development Programme supports your personal and professional growth through blended learning, career development workshops, mentoring for professional registration, and extensive on-the-job experience. You will be encouraged to achieve chartership with relevant professional bodies such as CIHT or ISEP.
