About the Role
What if you could do the kind of work the world needs? At WSP, you can access our global scale, contribute to landmark projects and connect with the brightest minds in your field to do the best work of your life. You can embrace your curiosity in a culture that celebrates new ideas and diverse perspectives. You can experience a world of opportunity and the chance to shape a career as unique as you.

We are looking for several Project Managers to join our Environmental Project Management Team. In this role, you will report to a Senior Environmental Project Manager and play an important part in delivering a wide range of environmentally focused projects across the UK, spanning both public- and private-sector clients. Our work is varied and impactful, covering some of the UK's most exciting and nationally significant infrastructure programmes such as National Grid's Great Grid Upgrade, Heathrow Expansion, East-West Rail, and Sizewell C. We also support a broad mix of built-environment and development schemes.

Our clients operate across sectors including highways, rail, aviation, defence, nuclear, residential and property, energy generation and renewables, and transmission and distribution. We provide support throughout the full project lifecycle, from early business case development and securing consents and permits (including DCOs), through to design and construction.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead your own smaller projects while working alongside Senior Project Managers on major programmes, giving you exposure, development, and room to grow. There will also be opportunities to line manage and mentor junior colleagues and to contribute to the ongoing development of our Environmental Project Management Team's strategy.

Key responsibilities include supporting the development of project proposals by determining project requirements, scope, resources, programme, and cost estimates for project delivery; developing and maintaining project management documentation such as project management plans, cost estimates and forecasts, risk registers, project schedules, stakeholder registers, and project organisation charts; monitoring and controlling project schedules, staff hours, budgets, forecasts, expenditure, and progress; ensuring health and safety information for site visits is in place; undertaking contract management and administration; actively managing project change and risks while ensuring adherence to project governance; working with technical teams and specialists to adhere to contractual and scope agreements; leading, mentoring, and developing multi-disciplinary environmental project teams; promoting environmental betterment and net zero strategies; and representing Environment and Consents internally and externally to clients and stakeholders.

Our team is strong, dedicated, and successful, proud of a friendly, supportive, and collaborative culture that enables team members to develop, feel empowered, and thrive. As a recognised centre of excellence within our Environment & Consents discipline, we provide leadership and tailored project management support across a wide variety of programmes, spanning PMO and Project Controls through to Project Manager and Project Director roles, involved at every stage of the project lifecycle.
