About the Role

Join our global Intelligent Infrastructure (II) business and contribute to landmark initiatives that support sustainable and safe operating solutions for public and private sector clients. Our Operations & Safety (O&S) group provides high-value advisory services aligned with Net Zero carbon and Vision Zero safety objectives, working with clients such as National Highways, Transport Scotland, West of England Combined Authority (WECA), and National Grid.
The O&S group specialises in six key technical areas:
- Operational safety: helping clients understand and mitigate safety risks in designs, operations, and technologies.
- Transport network operations: developing and assessing operational models, concepts, standards, and procedures.
- Human centred design: applying human factors, ergonomics, and behavioural science to design environments, systems, products, and services.
- Strategy development: advising on sustainable, resilient, and people-focused strategies using business cases and innovation techniques.
- Policy monitoring and evaluation: designing and executing multi-discipline monitoring and evaluation frameworks in line with Treasury requirements.
- Tunnel systems & operations: supporting design, operation, and management of tunnels in highway and utility sectors.

Experience
- Relevant technical background with qualifications such as a degree or similar higher education in any of the six technical areas listed.
- Experience working on high-quality consultancy-style projects aligned with operational safety, transport network operations, human centred design, strategy development, policy monitoring and evaluation, or tunnel systems and operations.
- Proven ability to analyse and interpret information from various sources and communicate findings effectively.
- Experience working as a client, consultant, or contractor, ideally within transport, public sector, or high-risk environments.
