About the Role
Equans is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our team on a permanent basis. In this full-time role, you will assist in the overall delivery of a variety of project works across a large portfolio of government buildings throughout the UK. You will support the wider team in managing multiple projects of varying complexity and priorities, with project values ranging from £20k to £2m. You will lead delivery of your own portfolio of non-complex projects and programmes of works as directed by senior project managers and the project director.
Your responsibilities will include developing and assisting with the development of scopes of work aligned with project outcomes and business cases, ensuring projects remain within agreed budgets, risk profiles, and business objectives. You will collaborate with commercial colleagues to ensure detailed and compliant tender processes and presentations are prepared for governance. Identifying and managing statutory and commercial risks associated with projects will be key.
You will also assist with production and management of project programmes, ensuring compliance with timescales and managing slippage and risks. Working closely with clients and stakeholders, you will ensure effective communication and customer acceptance in line with project plans. You will support the commercial team with payment applications and ensure project documentation is complete, current, and properly stored.
Additionally, you will work with the PMO function to report on project caseloads and provide weekly updates on progress, status, and financial information. Collaboration across the business will be essential to ensure smooth transitions to handover and beyond to the “in-use” phase of new assets.
This is a great opportunity for someone with previous project management experience, particularly in managing programmes of works and high-level reporting, who is looking to develop their career within a leading energy services company.
