About the Role
The UK&I energy sector is undergoing a seismic shift driven by surging demand, stricter regulations, and ambitious net-zero goals. This is your chance to be at the heart of groundbreaking innovation. We are seeking passionate and experienced Electrical Design Engineers at various seniority levels—from Experienced (ideally Chartered) to Senior, Principal, and Senior Principal—to join our team across the UK. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects including energy from waste, solar, interconnectors, windfarms, substations, overhead lines (OHL), energy building design, protection systems, LVAC, pump stations, and more.

As a Principal or Senior Electrical Engineer, you will play a key role throughout all project phases, from feasibility studies and concept design to construction and commissioning. Responsibilities include leading electrical design for projects involving generators, control and instrumentation systems, protection, substations, and transmission lines. You will design, model, and analyse electrical and electronic systems to ensure feasibility and compliance with industry standards. Additionally, you will provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and collaborate closely with civil, mechanical, and other engineering disciplines to ensure fully integrated project designs.

This is an exciting opportunity for engineers passionate about sustainable energy and eager to make a significant impact in the industry.

Requirements

Experience
Experience working with HV and EHV voltages and familiarity with UK requirements and regulations is essential. Experience in the energy sector is preferred, though experience in related sectors such as water or buildings is also valuable. Proven ability to produce and interpret design drawings and documents including single line diagrams, key line diagrams, block cable diagrams, calculations for equipment sizing and fault ratings, load schedules, specifications, and reports. Experience in collaborative design reviews and technical workshops is important.

About you
Ideally you will hold Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status with the IET. You will have strong communication skills, capable of delivering technical presentations to clients and design teams, and contributing effectively to collaborative design discussions. You embody and support values of client focus, designing with community in mind, collaboration, and service excellence. You are passionate about sustainable energy and motivated to contribute to innovative projects.

Qualifications
Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status with the IET is preferred. Relevant engineering qualifications and professional registrations are expected.
