About the Role
We are seeking an Associate Engineer to join our growing renewable energy advisory team. This key role supports the expansion of our Independent Engineering (IE), Owner’s Engineering (OE), and Technical Advisory (TA) services, working with a diverse portfolio of solar PV, wind, and energy storage projects. You will join a dynamic and ambitious team with a strong pipeline of early-stage project work and significant opportunities to shape and grow our service offering. This role is ideal for someone looking to step into a client-facing, leadership-oriented position within a collaborative and developing team environment.
You will lead and deliver FEED, IE, OE, and TA assignments across the full project lifecycle from concept and design through to construction, financing, and acquisition. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing project delivery for project finance, tax equity, sales, and acquisition mandates
- Reviewing technical and commercial documentation including contracts, schedules, and financial models (CAPEX/OPEX)
- Conducting site visits, construction monitoring, and witness testing
- Managing risks, schedules, deliverables, and documentation across multiple projects
- Producing high-quality technical advisory reports in accordance with industry standards outlining risks and recommendations
- Supporting clients with contract administration, variations, and claims
- Leading client and stakeholder meetings with developers, lenders, EPCs, investors, and internal teams
- Leading Pre-FEED and FEED design teams for wind, solar, and BESS projects
- Leading Owners Engineering service delivery
- Using your existing network to provide Business Development support for Stantec
Your Impact
In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the successful delivery of complex renewable energy projects by:
- Providing technical leadership and quality assurance across internal project teams
- Identifying and mitigating key technical and commercial risks
- Acting as a trusted advisor to clients across design, procurement, and construction phases
- Supporting financial close by delivering robust technical due diligence
- Strengthening client relationships and contributing to repeat business
- Mentoring junior team members and helping build technical capability within a growing, relatively early-stage team

Experience
- 5+ years’ experience in renewable energy including IE/OE/TA, development, construction, O&M, or M&A
- Experience supporting projects through financial close with lenders or investors
- Strong understanding of project delivery, contracts, and risk management
