About the Role
Equans is seeking a Head of Technical Operations to join our Sustainable FM National Accounts team on a permanent basis, working across Central Government contracts. This national, client-facing role provides strategic direction for operational delivery teams and is responsible for setting and communicating standards of statutory and contractual compliance in line with contractual agreements, company procedures, and safe systems of work.

The Head of Technical Operations will line manage a team of Technical Managers overseeing various stages of the compliance process including CAFM and Asset Management, Technical Governance, Energy, and Compliance and Assurance. This role is fundamental in shaping the technical delivery workflow—from CAFM setup and local control of assets, through service delivery and documentation, to ensuring customer compliance needs are met during audit and assurance processes.

As the senior technical stakeholder within the account, you will act as the key link between the Equans Central Authorising Engineer team and operational delivery functions, translating company policy into contract requirements and deliverables. Senior stakeholder management across client technical leads, independent auditors, and regulatory bodies is essential.

Key responsibilities include working with operational leads to improve compliance service delivery and SLA achievement, developing and maintaining CAFM Asset Management Strategy documents, communicating maintenance standard changes and compliance gaps, providing technical governance for commercial changes and new service lines, and ensuring standards relating to qualifications, appointments, and training are upheld.

You will demonstrate thorough knowledge of industry maintenance standards such as SFG20 and HTM, develop end-to-end technical standards, provide continual improvement processes, support compliance audits, manage CAFM data and planned maintenance activities, and contribute to the financial performance of the contract through operational efficiency and subcontract procurement.

This role requires a proactive approach to technical governance, ensuring safe systems of work and compliance with statutory and company procedures at all times.
