About the Role
EQUANS are seeking a Mobile General Maintenance Operative to join our HMCTS contract team at Bromley Magistrates Court. This permanent full-time role involves carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance on a wide variety of fabric and limited engineering assets, ensuring all activities are completed safely, timely, and in accordance with contract specifications and EQUANS processes. Key duties include legionella control and monitoring, inspection and repair of floors, walls, ceilings, roofs, furniture, doors (including fire doors), windows, drainage systems, lamp replacement, painting, decorating, plantroom inspections, reactive repairs, and general grounds maintenance tasks. You will also assist engineering staff, supervise subcontractors, escort contractors, and provide emergency support to ensure business continuity. The role requires adherence to health and safety policies, use of PPE, and maintaining a professional image as the face of EQUANS to clients.

Experience
Demonstrable experience in carpentry, painting, plumbing, or flooring within construction, repair, or maintenance environments. Good knowledge of fire door maintenance and inspection techniques. Understanding of legionella control techniques such as tap flushing.

A reliable and competent handyman/fabric technician who can work independently or as part of a team. You should have an eye for detail, a strong commitment to quality standards, and the ability to build rapport with end users and customers. A smart appearance and excellent communication skills are essential as you will represent EQUANS on site.

Qualifications
Desirable to hold an NVQ or equivalent qualification in plumbing, carpentry, or decorating services. Ability to gain technical appointments such as LVCP and Water Hygiene CP to permit lamp changing and L8 activities. Must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to undergo any required security vetting or disclosure checks.
