About the Role
When you see the world as we do, you see the chance to help the world take better care of its resources and help it become a better place for everyone. We're looking for someone equally committed to pushing for genuine change and bringing our ambition of Ecological Transformation to life. At Veolia, everyone contributes to working alongside communities, looking after the environment, and fostering an inclusive culture.
What we can offer you:
- 25 days of annual leave
- Access to our company pension scheme
- Discounts on groceries and well-known retailers
- Resources to support your physical, mental and financial health
- One paid day leave every year to volunteer and support your community
- Ongoing training and development opportunities to help you reach your full potential
Key responsibilities include:
- Stakeholder leadership and influence: Build credible relationships across the business, acting as the day-to-day internal communications lead for planning, implementation and advice. Provide guidance on processes, timelines, risks and communications approach while managing expectations and momentum.
- Trusted communications support: Serve as a reliable internal communications contact, partnering with stakeholders to identify effective communication methods that support business goals. Challenge requests when necessary and guide towards audience-focused solutions.
- Leadership without direct line management: Coordinate activities across the Internal Communications team and contributors, ensuring clear ownership, meeting deadlines and managing dependencies. Hold stakeholders accountable constructively to keep delivery on track.
- Deputising and representation: Represent the Internal Communications team in meetings, including in the absence of the Internal Communications Manager. Lead discussions on project status, next steps, risks and delivery requirements.
- Team enablement: Support the Internal Communications Manager and Head of Internal Communications by improving visibility of workload, forward planning, team capacity and project status to enable better prioritisation and resource allocation.
- End-to-end ownership of intake and triage: Manage the internal communications intake process by reviewing briefs, challenging incomplete information and determining the best delivery route aligned with business priorities and communications principles.
- Operational leadership of delivery: Lead the setup and coordination of internal communications projects and campaigns from brief to delivery, ensuring alignment of stakeholders, channel owners and creative support.
- Advisory support to stakeholders: Provide practical advice on delivery approach, sequencing, audience considerations, timings, dependencies and risks. Identify where requests need refinement, reprioritisation or escalation.
- Supporting business goals through data: Collaborate with internal customers to ensure communications activity supports business priorities and employee engagement.
Experience
- Proven experience in a communications role with significant project management and operational coordination responsibilities, ideally within a complex or matrix organisation.
- Strong project management skills with a track record of managing multiple workstreams simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, confident working with colleagues at all levels including senior stakeholders.
- High confidence working with spreadsheets, data and reporting, able to gather insights and present information clearly.
- Experience using project management tools, ideally Smartsheet, or ability to learn quickly and champion best practice.
About you
- High attention to detail, strong organisation and a proactive approach to chasing actions, managing dependencies and meeting deadlines.
- A collaborative mindset and a calm, solutions-focused approach when handling competing priorities and time-sensitive requests.
Qualifications
- Strong written English skills with the ability to draft, edit and proofread content to a high standard.
Desirable
- Experience coordinating communications across multiple channels including intranet, newsletters, email and video.
- Experience supporting measurement and evaluation, including compiling analytics and feedback to inform future work.
