About the Role
ScottishPower is seeking a talented and driven Lead Mobile Engineer to join our Digital team and lead the development of our flagship mobile applications – the "YourEnergy" app for iOS and Android. This is a technical leadership role focused on delivering high-quality mobile experiences that support our business goals and enhance customer engagement. You will be responsible for leading engineering, security, and technology improvements across our mobile apps, while managing the technical delivery of large-scale projects. This includes overseeing delivery teams, managing backlogs, and proactively identifying and resolving risks and issues.

You will lead the development and evolution of ScottishPower’s mobile applications, ensuring alignment with business strategy and customer needs. You will own the delivery of strategic mobile projects, defining the technical vision and roadmap, review and approve technical designs ensuring consistency, scalability, and maintainability. Champion engineering best practices including secure coding, observability, and accessibility, and ensure high standards of documentation and knowledge sharing across the team. Collaboration with cross-functional teams including Product, Design, Security, and QA is essential. You will also manage and mentor mobile engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Experience
Proven experience leading technical delivery of mobile applications at scale. Strong background in mobile development for both iOS and Android platforms. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools. Proficiency with source control tools such as Git. Familiarity with observability and analytics tools for mobile platforms. Experience implementing accessibility standards and inclusive design. Knowledge of mobile security testing tools and vulnerability remediation.
