About the Role

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will provide quantity surveying services from tender stage through to final account agreement for a portfolio of new overhead line and substation works across Central and Southern Scotland. Your responsibilities will include preparing NEC4 tender documentation (typically Option C and E contracts), negotiating tender prices with delivery partners, preparing monthly valuations and financial reports, and leading commercial meetings. You will collaborate closely with delivery partners and internal teams, managing change control, early warnings, compensation events, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and internal procedures. Additionally, you will mentor and develop junior staff while contributing to best practice initiatives. This role places you at the heart of Scotland’s Net Zero ambitions and the significant investment in renewable energy infrastructure.

Experience
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in consultancy or contracting environments
- Experience administering NEC3/4 contracts
- Strong commercial acumen with knowledge of procurement, change control, and cost management
- Transmission line experience (desirable)

- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong working relationships internally and externally
- Ability to lead commercial meetings and manage complex contract processes
- Motivated to mentor and develop junior staff

Qualifications
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent significant experience in a construction environment
- MRICS status (desirable)
