Location
East London, with teams across London and the Thames Valley.

Hours
38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30 am - 3:36 pm, plus standby rota payments and overtime opportunities.

Salary
Up to £45,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience, plus company van, tools, and PPE provided.

About the Role
As a Mechanical & Electrical Technician at Thames Water, you will use your mechanical and electrical expertise to inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify, or repair mechanical plant and associated electrical equipment. You will work safely, efficiently, and with minimal supervision to ensure all sites remain operational for the benefit of our customers. This role offers an excellent opportunity to make a real difference to Thames Water's environmental impact by actively helping to reduce pollution from our sites.

Your responsibilities will include undertaking both reactive and planned maintenance, responding to alarms, fault finding, and escalating issues when necessary. You will install new plant and equipment in line with current standards and regulations, record work and asset information to improve business performance, and identify potential risks with recommendations for resolution. You will also provide specialist technical advice, coach and develop staff including apprentices, and deliver excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.

All necessary PPE, tools, and a company van will be provided when on duty and on call. Overtime and standby rota payments can increase your earning potential by up to £8,000-£10,000 per annum upon completion of essential company training.

Experience
- Time-served apprentice with significant experience in mechanical/electrical systems or holding NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 in mechanical/electrical engineering.
- Proven problem solver, able to identify issues and implement solutions or escalate as needed.
- Experience providing technical expertise to internal and external staff and contractors.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and under own initiative to design and standards.
- Knowledge and awareness of relevant Health and Safety issues.
