About the Role
Wood is recruiting an Environmental Economist at either Consultant or Senior Consultant grade to join our Environmental Policy and Economics team. This team provides policy, economic, technical, and scientific advice on national and international environmental policy development and implementation. Our consultancy services support national Governments, European Union institutions, international organisations such as the United Nations and World Bank, industry associations, and major global companies. We are known for robust, impartial analysis that influences environmental, economic, social, and health outcomes in the UK, EU, and worldwide.

The role supports growth in our European environmental policy and economics business, working on projects related to water, hazardous chemicals, industrial emissions, air quality, natural capital and ecosystem services, climate change, waste and resources, and other specialist areas. You will apply economic theory and socio-economic techniques to environmental policies, including cost-benefit and cost-effectiveness analysis, ex-post evaluation, impact assessment, valuation of human health and social and environmental effects, and economic competitiveness assessments.

This is an exceptional opportunity offering career development, exposure to diverse projects, and international travel within a friendly and supportive environment. Applications from candidates with European language skills are particularly welcome. Our core team is based across the UK, Belgium, and Germany, collaborating with technical experts worldwide.

- For Senior Consultant grade: demonstrated success in developing professional networks, securing new business, and delivering commercial proposals
