Wood is a multidisciplinary environmental and engineering company with a well-established landscape planning practice supported by in-house planners, environmental, transport, engineering, and stakeholder engagement teams. The Wood Landscape Team offers a broad spectrum of landscape planning and design expertise for projects across the UK, including onshore and offshore wind, hydrogen and solar array developments, nuclear power stations, minerals projects, electricity transmission projects, major transport infrastructure, and various housing and mixed-use developments.
This is an exciting time to join our growing business with a wide range of projects across all major development sectors. We are seeking a Senior / Principal landscape architect or landscape planner to join our friendly and supportive team. Depending on your experience and role, you will be involved in delivering Landscape Visual Impact Assessments (LVIAs) and related workstreams including strategic landscape feasibility studies and iterative scheme design inputs. These often involve providing landscape mitigation advice to colleagues and clients.

Experience
Proven experience as a landscape architect or landscape planner within a consultancy environment. Demonstrable technical rigour and a proactive approach to project delivery. Experience authoring and contributing to a range of technical assessments, including robust LVIAs for various types and scales of development.
Sound understanding of landscape legislation, policy, and guidance.
Knowledge of the theory and practice of relevant LVIA guidance.
Understanding of landscape character assessment processes and their application to landscape sensitivity, capacity assessments, and development of landscape strategies and guidelines.
Experience with graphics software such as Adobe Photoshop or wind farm software is desirable but not essential.

Qualifications
Chartered or working towards chartership in landscape architecture or landscape planning.
