This senior role is focused on substation design projects within electricity transmission and distribution networks, supporting clients such as National Grid and SSEN both in the UK and internationally.
As a Senior Substation Primary (HV Plant) Design Engineer, you will provide technical leadership on Front End Engineering Design (FEED) and Detailed Design workstreams, ensuring quality assurance and delivery of projects and bids. You will review HV plant aspects including layouts, elevations, earthing design, mechanical interlocking, busbar calculations, and technical specifications. Acting as Principal Designer Representative when required, you will coordinate with engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers, manage tender packages, chair design and hazard review meetings, and attend client site visits.

Experience
Proven experience in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Primary Plant design, preferably up to 400kV but not essential. Demonstrated ability to manage tender packages and deliver HV plant technical offers. Experience in client engagement, technical leadership, and multidisciplinary design projects from FEED to Detailed Design.

Qualifications
